Australian Design

Here are a few photos I styled for The Minimalist Home featuring my Australian made favourites I have purchased for my home. I am currently crushing on The Design Twins silver dipped marble stool (and no this is not my bedside table... I moved it for the shoot!). My blush Billy Heckenberg cushion is such a stand out piece and looks great in any part of the house.  Finally my 'love' screen print from talented insta friend @sarahplustwoandjax is a cute addition to any space.

Monochrome Cushions

I styled these monochrome cushions for the lovely and talented Megan from Bungalow Living. They were perfect timing, as they gave my deck upstairs a fresh new look for the change of season.

Pinterest ♡

Sunday night pinning is always fun!!

The whole gang is usually home, which means a movie or sport on the television, or playstation games being played. Whilst I don't mind watching it sometimes, I'm not the biggest tv person ...so it's nice to spend time together and still being able to do something that interests me! Usually that means some time on  Instagram or Pinterest, soaking in some inspiration! Here is a collection of some of my favourites I've spotted recently.

Hotel Hotel

Here are a few snapshots from my weekend away in Canberra.

I decided to book this weekend mini break to Canberra to see the James Turrell Exhibition at the National Gallery of Canberra and we were not disappointed!

The entire exhibition is based around the idea of light and manipulating it through colour and shapes. My favourite display was the most immersive - you walked into a whole room, where the walls constantly changed colours into the most divine hues! If you are looking for a cultured weekend, I would definitely recommend visiting.

The gift shop for Turrell's Exhibition was like a gallery in itself. I picked up a lovely Dinosour Design piece in the most gorgeous colour - it was so hard to pick just one, I wanted to buy them all!

Food wise, Canberra is a hidden gem! The cafe's around the university district all have a hipster vibe- we had the best avo on toast at The Cupping Room! Also worth visiting is their Jamie's Italian in the CBD. The Canberra version of this chain has lively interiors and my favourite meal - Mussel Linguini. And I can't not mention the polenta chips- oh my!

Of course no Canberra visit is complete without a visit to Questacon for the kids!

We stayed at Hotel Hotel - a design hotel which appealed immensely to my nature as a visual addict! Every detail was well thought out from the Aesop amenities, the Smeg fridge to the curated book collection. I loved staying there - I wanted to stay even longer!

The design extends into the foyer where there were plenty of hip people hanging out in the cafe/bar/library called Monster Monster - we had an amazing breakfast there Sunday Morning,

We will definitely be returning back to Hotel Hotel! Such a fun weekend away!
